Johannesburg - Shares of Anglo American Platinum fall after world's top platinum producer says it is reviewing options for its Rustenburg operations in South Africa, which were hit by a crippling five-month strike that ended last week.

Amplats' shares are down almost 2 percent to 453.79 rand, making it the biggest decliner on the Top-40 index, which is up 0.13 percent.

Amplats is widely expected to sell or restructure its struggling mines around the platinum belt town of Rustenburg.

But this could provoke further labour unrest in the area, a scenario which could spark a flight by jittery investors. - Reuters
