Property firm Atterbury Developments planned to build three shopping malls in Mozambique, managing director James Ehlers said on Friday, joining a slew of real estate developers responding to the lure of Africa’s fast-growing consumer markets. At Reuters Africa Investment Summit in Johannesburg, Ehlers said the properties – a blend of residential and commercial – would be in the second-largest city Beira; the port city Pemba; and Nacala. He did not say how long the projects would take. Atterbury is owned by listed property fund Hyprop Investments, which fell 0.43 percent to close at R77 on Friday. – Reuters
