Johannesburg - Barloworld Transport, part of listed distribution group Barloworld, yesterday reported the acquisition of a controlling 51 percent of leading refrigerated transport company Aspen Logistics Services for an undisclosed amount.
Neil Henderson, the chief executive of Barloworld Transport, said the company was excited to have finalised this strategic acquisition.
“We have great respect for their business, which has been built from the ground up, ultimately becoming one of the most respected operators in the refrigerated transport industry,” he said.
“Incorporating Aspen Logistic Services into our stable means we are able to broaden our specialised offerings of smart, reputable and reliable transport solutions to our customers throughout southern Africa.”
Barloworld’s share price gained 3.81 percent to close at R73.38 on the JSE yesterday.
