Barloworld: Unit to partner Transnet on rail

Transnet Freight Rail and Barloworld Logistics, part of the listed distribution group, had signed a memorandum of understanding to explore multimodal collaboration opportunities, they announced yesterday. The partnership would facilitate joint logistics services to support Transnet’s “road to rail” strategy. The strategy aims to divert freight transported via road to multimodal combinations with the promise of a more efficient and cost effective end-to-end solution. – Roy Cokayne
