Datacentrix: Annual turnover increases by 19%

Datacentrix lifted revenue 19 percent to R2.3 billion in the year to February on the back of strong sales in the managed services and technology divisions, the listed technology firm said yesterday. The provider of integrated information and communication technology services to corporates such as mining firm Exarro saw earnings after tax increase 15 percent to R88.9 million. Headline earnings a share jumped 15 percent to 45.6c. Cash and cash equivalents shrank to R203m at year-end from R273.7m a year earlier. The company said cash was used to settle acquisitions amounting to R57.8m, pay dividends of R47.7m and clear tax obligations of R60.4m. The board revised the dividend policy to three times headline earnings cover. A gross cash dividend of 8.17c a share was declared for the year. Datacentrix shares closed 1.89 percent up at R4.31 on the JSE yesterday. – Asha Speckman
