Johannesburg - A miner working at Harmony Gold's Masimong mine near Welkom, in the Free State, died in a tramming accident, the company said on Wednesday.

The accident happened on Tuesday, Harmony said in a statement.

“Investigations into the accident are underway. All tramming operations at the mine have been stopped.”

Chief executive Graham Briggs and his management team expressed condolences to the family, colleagues and friends of the miner. - Sapa
