St Petersburg - Group of 20 leaders have agreed to make economic growth and job creation their top priority.

In a St Petersburg action plan adopted at a G20 summit in the Russian city, they said they would take “decisive actions to return to a job-rich, strong, sustainable and balanced growth path.”

“We remain united in our resolve to promote inclusive growth and more and better jobs,” they said.

“Unemployment and underemployment in many countries, particularly among young people, remains one of the key challenges confronting the global economy and a top priority for the G20.”

The leaders pointed to the need for coordinated public policies to boost labour markets and agreed to create individual plans in their own countries to achieve higher employment. - Sapa-dpa
