Donna Oosthuyse has quit as Citigroup’s managing director and country officer in South Africa to join stock exchange operator JSE Limited. Oosthuyse, 57, who came to South Africa with Citigroup in 1995, would become director of capital markets at the JSE from next month, Africa’s largest bourse, which trades equities, bonds, commodities and derivatives, said yesterday. “Coming as she does from a major client, Donna will be able to help the JSE respond to issuer and investor needs,” JSE chief executive Nicky Newton-King said. Oosthuyse worked for Citigroup for almost 30 years in countries including the US and Brazil. During her time in Johannesburg, Citigroup’s South African assets rose to more than R40 billion and the bank expanded into 11 African countries. “After a long and immensely satisfying career at Citi, I am excited about the opportunity to work with such a passionate and talented team,” Oosthuyse said. – Bloomberg
