SABMiller profits increase

Global brewing giant SABMiller plc (SAB) has reported a 12% rise in adjusted earnings per share to 214.8 cents US for the year ended March 2012 from 191.5 cents a year ago, with strong results in developing markets.

It reported lager volumes of 229 million hectolitres (hl), 3% ahead of the prior year on an organic basis with particularly strong growth delivered in Latin America and Africa. Soft drinks volumes rose 7% to of 49 million hectolitres.

Reported group revenue was up 11% to $31.39 billion, with organic, constant currency group revenue growth of 7%.

Reported EBITA was up 12% at $5.63 billion, with organic, constant currency EBITA growth of 8%. The EBITA margin increased by 10 basis points (bps) to 17.9%.

Full year dividends per share grew 12% to 91.0 US cents. - I-Net Bridge
