Bauba Platinum had renewed two new order prospecting rights held by Bauba A Hlabirwa Mining Investments over the Bauba project, for three years, the exploration firm said yesterday. Bauba A Hlabirwa is 60 percent owned by Bauba Platinum and 40 percent by the Bapedi nation. The company said the prospecting rights, issued by the Department of Mineral Resources, covered all eight properties making up the 14 200ha Bauba project situated near Steelpoort in Limpopo. Bauba Platinum chief executive Grant Pitt said: “We are delighted that the renewals have been granted. This will allow the firm to continue to develop the Bauba project in accordance with our strategy and in collaboration with the Bapedi nation.” The shares remained unchanged to close at R1.20 on the JSE yesterday. – Dineo Faku
