Kenya Airways, sub-Saharan Africa’s third-largest airline, has entered a codeshare partnership with Comair’s kulula.com to give its customers better connectivity in South Africa. It was the first codeshare agreement between Kenya Airways and a low-cost carrier, commercial director Gerard Clarke said yesterday in Nairobi. Under the deal, which is subject to regulatory approval by the Kenyan and South African governments, Kenya Airways customers can book tickets for kulula.com services to Cape Town, Durban, George and East London in South Africa. Passengers on kulula.com can buy tickets on flights between Johannesburg and Nairobi, according to a Kenya Airways statement. Customers could book flights under the codeshare arrangement from yesterday, it said. Shares in Comair, which operates British Airways flights in South Africa, declined 1.23 percent to close at R4 in Johannesburg yesterday. – Bloomberg
