Zambia’s inflation quickened to 6.7 percent year on year in June from 6.6 percent in May, the Central Statistics Office (CSO) said yesterday. “The increase is attributed to increases in some food prices,” CSO director John Kalumbi said. “Zambia recorded a trade surplus valued at 278.3 billion kwacha (R446 million) in May this year, compared with 129.6 billion kwacha in April,” Kalumbi added. – Reuters
