France, Spain agree euro is “irreversible”

France and Spain's leaders said Thursday they had agreed in Madrid talks that the euro is “irreversible”.

“We want the European Union to go forward, neither the euro, nor the single market, nor the union will give a step backwards,” Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy told a joint news conference.

Hollande added: “Rajoy and I are committed to the irreversibility of the euro.” - Sapa-AFP
