Finnish-based mobile phone maker Nokia on Thursday said it planned to revamp its IT services, outsourcing up to 820 employees to India and cutting hundreds of positions in Finland.
The outsourcing will involve India's HCL Technologies and TATA Consultancy Services.
The IT unit has about 2,000 employees.
The company said most of the 300 job cuts will affect employees in Finland.
The measures are part of plans announced in June to slash its global workforce by about 10,000 people.
Nokia is trying to regain its former dominant role in the high-end mobile phone sector.
Two years ago it signed an agreement with software company Microsoft to use its Windows operating system. - Sapa-dpa
