US: Icahn denies claims of probe

Billionaire Carl Icahn was not aware of any investigation of him and golfer Phil Mickelson regarding trades related to Clorox and Dean Foods, he said yesterday, and called a report by the Wall Street Journal “completely irresponsible”. The paper reported on Friday that the two and sports gambler William Walters were targets of an insider-trading probe into large option trades in the days before Icahn’s $10.2 billion (R108bn) offer for Clorox in July 2011. – Bloomberg
