London - The biggest time-waster in the modern age? Probably a hypnotic and addictive online game called Candy Crush.
Launched last December, it is the most popular game on Facebook and more than 45 million people play it every month online, on smartphones and iPads.
Its appeal is probably due to its simple concept: line up three or more matching sweets from a grid of pick’n’mix and ‘crush’ them.
Its success is part of a wider trend for what has been dubbed “casual gaming”, simple concepts that can be played in ten-minute bursts while waiting for the bus or sitting on the train. - Daily Mail
