Berlin - The neknominate drinking game is yesterday's online craze: today we're all into whaling, which requires you to take a flying, head-first leap through the air and record it on video.

It comes hot on the heels of planking (a still photograph of you lying face-down in a public place and keeping your body straight as a plank), the Harlem Shake, twerking, cat bearding and imitating the “First Kiss” video.

Whaling is so named because you hurl your body up and over, arms outstretched and vanish again so that you resemble a breaching whale.

The craze has got people literally bending over backwards to be online. Whaling is taking off in social networks like Vine and Twitter where it has its own hash tag: #whaling. ##
