#WEF2017: Davies wants to understand 4th industrial revolution

Davos - South African Trade and Industry Minister Rob Davies said he was at the World Economic Forum to better understand the Fourth Industrial Revolution and its impact on the world, and especially workers.Davies is part of a high-level government, business and civil society delegation, led by Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa, at WEF in Davos-Klosters to sell South Africa to the international investment community.

Speaking from the Congress Centre in Davos on Wednesday, Davies told the African News Agency (ANA): "As a Industry Minister I follow closely the Fourth Industrial Revolution," citing the research and analysis being done and presented at WEF.

On the issue of the advancement in technology, he said: "We see some already in South Africa but others are in the horizon. My question is: 'But what about the workers?'"

Davies said previous industrial revolutions had only affected certain industries but that the Fourth Industrial Revolution would affect everyone

and all industries.
