Aquarius Platinum shares fell 6.1 percent yesterday to close at R26.28 as investors bet its Zimbabwe operations would have a tough time if joint venture partner Impala Platinum was squeezed by the government, analysts said. Zimbabwe said on Tuesday a deal was “imminent” for Aquarius’s Mimosa mine. But its partner in the mine is Impala Platinum, whose Zimbabwe unit, Zimplats, was threatened on Tuesday with prosecution and possible revocation of its mining licence. – Reuters
