Distell Ready-to-drink brands lift sales

Distell Group’s first-half earnings rose on higher sales of premixed ready-to-drink brands and cider, South Africa’s biggest wine and spirit producer said yesterday. Net income advanced 13 percent to R877 million in the six months to last December, the company said. Sales rose 9 percent to R8.7 billion. “Distell’s cider and ready-to-drink brands maintained their strong performance,” the wine maker said. The stock fell 0.45 percent to R110.50. – Bloomberg
