EOH Empowerment rating rises to level 2

EOH had improved its empowerment rating to level 2, the listed technology outsourcing provider said yesterday. The company was previously listed as a large enterprise level 3 contributor to broad-based black economic empowerment. The company said it was 34.62 percent black-owned, 60 percent of its board members were black, and its employment equity report reflected 59 percent black participation. EOH employs more than 5 000 people in the country. It had launched an initiative to engage its blue chip customers, business partners and the government to devise ways to stimulate job creation. The firm had recruited 620 learners and interns who accounted for about 15 percent of its permanent workforce. The shares closed 4.4 percent up at R39.95 yesterday. – Asha Speckman
