The Gautrain's bus operator will seek a court interdict to force its striking drivers to return to work.
“Intense negotiations” in which management agreed to recognise an entirely new union did not end the strike, the Bombela Concession Company said in a statement on Tuesday night.
“As a consequence, the bus management company will now seek an urgent court interdict to compel the strikers to return to work.”
There would be no buses going to Gautrain stations on Wednesday.
A total of 125 buses on all Gautrain routes stopped running on Tuesday morning, spokesman Errol Braithwaite said earlier in the day.
“It appears this is a sympathy stay-away related to a bus driver who was suspended pending a disciplinary hearing.”
The company was implementing measures to make some buses available. - Sapa

How is this possible? I find it ridiculously outrageaous!! Do these people understand the importance of keeping this service running for the whole country's image? "Sympathy strike" - If he was suspended he must have done something wrong. And everybody gets punished when doing something wrong. Or do they think they are above the lowa & rules? This is shocking... I wonder if we all understand customer service in this country.
