Malema ridicules Zuma as ‘shower man’

ANC Youth League president Julius Malema.

Suspended ANC Youth League president Julius Malema joined in songs that ridiculed President Jacob Zuma at the ANC's Limpopo conference -labelling him the “shower man” in reference to his 2006 rape trial, according to the Sunday Times.

Supporters of Malema ally, premier Cassel Mathale, fighting to retain his position as the party's provincial chairman, sang “showara wa re sokodisa” (the shower man is giving us a hard time).

Malema sat on stage and “fervently joined in the singing, holding his hand over his head to symbolise a shower head” the newspaper reported.

The song was in reference to Zuma's 2006 rape trial in which he told the Johannesburg high court that he had a shower after having unprotected sex with his HIV positive accuser. Zuma was found not guilty.

The shower image was created by cartoonist Zapiro who is being sued by Zuma for R5 million after he depicted Zuma with a shower growing out of his head during and after the trial.

Malema is currently appealing a five-year suspension from the party after he was found to have brought the party in disrepute. - Sapa

@Mhlongo, please speak for urself when u say "zuma our president" not everyone share ur sentiments. @ Madhir, Why was it ok for zuma to insult a sitting president ( Mr Thabo Mbeki ) but not right for Malema to insult some who taught him the tricks of trade?

Flicking channels last night during the halftime break between Man City and Arsenal, I landed up on an SABC channel. Here was Shower Head Man been interviewed live by some useless SABC journalists. Well all I can say is that Shower Head Man has very little between his ears and is an utter embarrassement. It was quite comical watching him as he cannot string two sentences together.

Mathale has dug himself a grave by supporting Malema, we should remember that Zuma appoint the premiers therefore he can cut Mathale and Malema to size. Show them Mr President.

When you plant an orange seed it wont produce banana tree, what ever malema is doing are results of what zuma planted, and this is the beggining of the zuma night mare and mbeki's breakfast show. I think zuma wont step down like mbeki but destroy every thingone trying to take power that he stole from mbeki

Zuma will never live his showerhead label down. It will last him for life. The fact is that there are mamy many South Africans who have little respect for Zuma and have little sympathy for hin since he deliberately declined to attend court to specifically defend the corruption allegations.

This thing has no respect for his superious , what is it that he wants, one moment he said he would die for Zuma, now he is singing a different song. This cocroach is confused and not fit to be a leader. His suspension must be turned to permanent dismissal from the ANC.How can he insult the President of this country like this?
