Comment on this story

Mpact’s revenue rose 10.9 percent to R6.8 billion for the year to December, the packaging firm said yesterday. Underlying operating profit rose 11.6 percent to R585 million, with underlying earnings a share up to R1.911 from R1.029 in the previous period. Chief executive Bruce Strong said the group delivered commendable results, in spite of considerable challenges in the business environment. The revenue gain was driven chiefly by increased sales volumes across both the paper and plastics businesses. The shares closed 1.35 percent higher at R21.79. – Staff reporter
