Why does Eskom not allow for variable price rates for when power is consumed? It then allows the consumer to modify their behavior to take advantage of the low cost of electricity between 10pm and 4am and 11am and 2pm? So increase the price substantially for PEAK PERIODS (5-7pm, 6-8am) and keep the price the same for lower periods? Being able to sell power back into the Grid or being able to generate power for your own use during peak times would be far better than uncontrolled, random, rolling back outs? Why does Eskom not allow consumers to have a meter that shows both consumption and power put back into the grid? Possibly this is something private industry should be allowed to assist with?
