The South African Municipal Workers Union (Samwu) says it is mobilising its members for a nationwide strike against the ban of labour brokers and the e-tolling system, as organised by Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu).

The strike is scheduled for March 7.

The Gauteng Freeway Improvement Project, the Wild Coast and the Cape Winelands Toll Highway Project were all done without proper consultation with stakeholders and the public, the union said in a statement.

“...workers deserve nothing less than an environment free of labour brokers, exorbitant charges in the form of e-tolls and a decent living wage,” said Samwu. - I-Net Bridge

Is the strike going to make much difference? You don't see many Municipal employees actually working, and if they are then they are insolent and arrogant. The days of civil servants is long past and we now have uncivil and overpaid public employees.

the reason for labour brokers to scraped out its really making sense so we going back to find in a small municipality only friends and families are employees it goes back to who you know and not what you, tolling yes we pay a lot traffic fines, dics licences and drivers licences it does not mean we have much when we have cars

Another strike, more chaos, more money lost from our economy. When will these UNION thugs finally arrested and charged with treason?

Poor Vavi, hes not getting his share of the spoils and is throwing his toys out the cot. Remember Zooooma and co. are staying up late planning who to pull down next after delivering Jules a knock out blow, like jules, Vavi, Tokyo, Mathews are about to receive hammer blow after hammer blow from Zoooma and co, can they take it???

I do not see the need why the labour brokers should be banned because there's too much nepotism when we have to get those jobs in the municipality. let them do their tasks and see where they can take us to.
