Textiles union reaches wage deal

A pay settlement has been reached for workers in the textile sector, the SA Clothing and Textile Workers' Union (Sactwu) said on Friday.

General secretary Andre Kriel said employees had accepted a 6.76 percent wage increase.

The agreement was reached at a conciliation meeting on Thursday at the National Textile Bargaining Council.

The agreement would be backdated to July 1 this year. - Sapa
