Passengers on board a British Airways (BA) flight from Miami to London on Saturday got the fright of their lives when cabin crew mistakenly announced the plane was going down and they should brace themselves for an emergency water landing.
The Daily Telegraph reported that as panic spread among the travellers, who feared they would die, a flight attendant apologised over the intercom, saying the prerecorded message was played in error.
Passengers Duncan and Tracey Farquharson from London said staff issued a “blasé” apology and did not explain the error until they landed hours later.
But a BA spokesman said the cabin crew immediately apologised and spoke to passengers individually to reassure them of their safety. – Daily Mail
