ANGLO American has appointed former Lonmin executive Natascha Viljoen as head of processing. Viljoen “is responsible for looking at all of our processing operations around the world from a technical perspective”, spokesman Pranill Ramchander said yesterday. Viljoen had started work on Friday and reported to Tony O’Neill, Anglo’s technical director, Ramchander said. A recovery at Lonmin from a 2012 strike was led by Viljoen, the executive vice-president for processing, and Mark Munroe, the executive vice-president for mining. Both had resigned “to pursue new opportunities”, the platinum producer said on Monday. Lonmin named Johan Viljoen as chief operating officer to replace the two vacant roles.
