Johannesburg - ArcelorMittal South Africa said on Monday it would declare force majeure within the next 24 hours after a fire at its Vanderbijlpark plant forced it to shut down the steel-making facility over the weekend.

The fire at the plant on Saturday caused extensive damage but there were no injuries, the unit of global steelmaker ArcelorMittal said in a statement. - Reuters
