Basil Read has been awarded a R193 million contract for the building of the permanent access road for Swakop Uranium’s Husab uranium mine project in Namibia.

The listed construction and engineering group said yesterday that the project involved building 22km of road from outside Swakopmund to Swakop’s uranium plant and was expected to be completed by February 2014.
