Johannesburg - Business Report will hold its first Twitter town hall on Thursday from 11am to 11:30am.
Business Report Editor Ellis Mnyandu will field questions as part of the town hall for Business Report readers and followers via Business Report’s Twitter page (www.twitter.com/busrep) as well as his own Twitter page (www.twitter.com/ellis_mnyandu).
The hashtag for the event will be #AskBREditor.
Those wishing to participate can send their questions or the issues they wish to raise to either the (@busrep or @ellis_mnyandu Twitter pages) or send a Twitter post with the #AskBREditor hashtag.
The bonus about a Twitter town hall is that it can address specific issues quickly, like a public meeting, but in this case held over the Internet.
“The growth of social media gives us the opportunity to engage in conversations that should help shape South Africa's political, economic and social discourse,” said Ellis Mnyandu.
“As a brand Business Report is read by highly influential people and that presents us with a Twitter following like no other in the business media landscape in South Africa. So we thought it appropriate to make constant connection with our readers via a very important social media platform that is rapidly transforming our industry.”
During a Twitter town hall meeting, online users are free to ask questions and acquire information regarding a specific topic on the social media site.
