Coal of Africa said on Thursday it has re-hired 178 workers it sacked last week for going on an illegal strike at its Mooiplaats mine in South Africa.

South Africa's gold and platinum mining sectors have been rocked this year by a wave of wildcat strikes that have raised worries of slowing growth for Africa's largest economy. - Reuters
