Delta International: Mozambique property deals sealed

DELTA International reported yesterday the conclusion of the acquisition of an office building and shopping centre in Mozambique and the opening of private placements to fund acquisitions.The property holding company, with a primary listing on the Stock Exchange of Mauritius and secondary listing on the JSE AltX, said it had concluded the acquisition of the 10 660 square metre Vodacom building in Maputo.The company also bought the Zimpeto Square shopping centre, which is located 13km north of Maputo’s central business district, and has a gross leasable area of 4 734m2 and covers two floors and an outdoor parking area. In another development, the company said it had opened a private placement yesterday of about 26 million new ordinary shares, which aimed to raise up to about R515 million. The shares were placed at the closing price of the company’s shares on Tuesday. Delta International shares closed 2.56 percent lower at R19 on the JSE yesterday. – Roy Cokayne
