International Ferro Metals Limited (IFL), the London-listed ferrochrome producer with operations in South Africa, said on Monday that one of two roof upgrade projects had been completed on time and within budget.
“Installation of the first furnace roof was completed, and the company switched in the furnace successfully on 30 July 2011. The furnace is expected to ramp up to full production from mid-September as previously announced,” it said.
It added that the second furnace roof upgrade was progressing to plan with switch-in expected in early September and ramp-up to full production from mid-October.
The group also announced on Monday that the first delivery of ore had been received at the IFL plant from the new mining operations at Sky Chrome. - I-Net Bridge
