Revenue from e-tolls in Gauteng jumped to an eight-month high last month after the government announced stricter measures to ensure payment from motorists. The SA National Roads Agency Limited (Sanral) collected about R76 million from the system in Gauteng last month, 25 percent more than in April, according to data provided by the agency. Collections peaked at R120m in June last year, the data showed, before the provincial government announced a review of the system, causing some road users to delay payment, chief executive Nazir Alli said on Wednesday. – Bloomberg
