Gijima had appointed Bill Hoggarth as its new chief sales officer, the information technology company owned by Robert Gumede said yesterday. Hoggarth’s appointment took effect at the beginning of the month. He joins from Dataways, a business intelligence product and services firm, which he co-founded in 2012. His professional experience spans 30 years of executive, general management and sales experience in the information and communication technology industry in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He had established and grown innovative businesses such as Business Objects, Siebel and SAS to positions of market leadership in many different markets, Gijima said. He joins at a time when Gijima is executing a three-year turnaround strategy, which has included some retrenchments, the sale of property and a refinement of its focus. The shares plummeted 10.77 percent to close at 58c yesterday. – Asha Speckman
