Johannesburg - Shares of aluminium products maker Hulamin fall after the company says chief executive Richard Jacob is to take medical leave to receive specialist care in South Africa and neurological surgery in the United States.

The shares are down 1.30 percent to 7.65 rand after earlier skidding over 2 percent to 7.60 rand, underperforming the All-share index, which is 0.64 percent higher.

Hulamin says Jacob is expected to return to his job in mid-October “after a suitable period of convalescence”.

Chief financial officer David Austin will be acting chief executive in his place. - Reuters
