South Africa's benchmark Top-40 index slips below the psychologically important 30,000 mark for the first time in a week as concerns about global growth weigh on miners such as African Rainbow Minerals and Impala Platinum.
The index is down 0.3 percent at 29,945.71.
The decline follows a broader sell-off in emerging market equities, which hit their lowest in nearly two weeks on jitters over Chinese growth and further impact from the euro zone debt crisis. - Reuters
