Johannesburg - Business must give further education and training (FET) college graduates job opportunities, African National Congress secretary general Gwede Mantashe said on Tuesday.
“FET colleges can't offer opportunities unless business is involved,” he said.
“Many youngsters don't believe they can get a qualification (at FET colleges) and get a job.”
Mantashe was speaking at a breakfast meeting of the SA Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
He told delegates that business had a role to create a conducive environment that encouraged people to attend FET colleges.
“Business must create an environment that is world class. You can do it and give those from FET colleges employment,” he said. - Sapa
