MTN Zakhele shareholders would begin restricted trade of the scheme’s ordinary shares via an online trading platform from November 25, the scheme’s board said on Friday. Existing ordinary shareholders and black individuals or groups would have to register online or through the call centre from the beginning of next month to begin trading. MTN launched its R8.1 billion black empowerment scheme three years ago, which gave 120 000 black public shareholders a 4 percent stake in MTN’s total issued ordinary shares. The firm will run shareholder education and registration seminars at locations in Durban, Polokwane, Port Elizabeth, Cape Town and Johannesburg from November 2 to 21. – Asha Speckman
