Naspers had reshuffled its board to reflect the large overlaps between itself and the board of its subsidiary MIH Holdings, the media group said yesterday. As part of the process Lourens Jonker, Neil van Heerden and Hein Willemse resigned from the board on Wednesday. But in light of their experience, the trio were invited to join the board of Media 24 Holdings, which is a unit of MIH. Craig Enenstein, Don Eriksson, Roberto Oliviera de Lima, Yuanhe Ma and Cobus Stofberg were appointed to the Naspers board. Most of them had previously served on the board of MIH.
The Naspers board now comprises 15 directors. The stock shed 2.2 percent to close at R948.50 on the JSE after peaking at R973.97 during intraday trading. – Asha Speckman
