Vevey, Switzerland - Swiss food giant Nestle on Thursday said its net profit fell 2 per cent to 10 billion Swiss francs (11.1 billion dollars) last year, owing to negative currency effects and restructuring of Nestle's product portfolio.

Nestle had sold its weight-loss product brand Jenny Craig late in 2013.

Revenues rose 2.7 per cent to 92.2 billion francs.

The increase would have been an additional 3.7 percentage points higher without the unfavourable currency developments.

Nestle's operating profit fell 2.4 per cent to 13.07 billion francs. - Sapa-dpa
