Pioneer Foods has appointed Phil Roux as chief executive, effective from May.
He will replace André Hanekom, who has been with the company for 24 years. Roux is a consumer brands business executive at Tiger Brands and a non-executive director at Oceana Group.
He has 24 years experience in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry.
Roux was previously chief operating officer at Coca Cola Sabco and executive director at Tiger Brands.

Roux said he was delighted at the opportunity to lead Pioneer Foods, as it was a significant branded FMCG firm with compelling growth potential.
Hanekom was Pioneer’s chief executive for 19 years. Pioneer’s shares rose by 3.15 percent to close at R73.75 on Friday. – Nompumelelo Magwaza
