Johannesburg - Members of the NUM will continue strikes in the platinum sector, the union said on Tuesday.

“The NUM members have resolved to continue with this peaceful, bloodless and effective legal strike in the platinum sector strike,” acting National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) spokesman Livhuwani Mammburu said in a statement.

Mammburu said a Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) meeting was held on Monday between the union and Northam Platinum.

The NUM would report back on the outcomes of the meeting to its Limpopo members on Wednesday.

It would then reconvene with Northam Platinum on Wednesday afternoon, Mammburu said. - Sapa
