PetroSA bosses probed for fiddling tenders

A number of PetroSA senior officials are under investigation for transgression of the firm’s procurement systems after a report commissioned by the holding company, the Central Energy Fund (CEF) Group, and the Department of Energy unearthed irregular awarding of tenders at the petroleum parastatal.

The CEF Group said yesterday that it had received a preliminary report from an investigation team which made serious allegations against some current and former senior officials at PetroSA. It showed that some PetroSA executives disregarded the internal control systems when awarding tenders and contracts. – Londiwe Buthelezi
