Pretoria - Power has been restored to most parts of Pretoria which were affected by the destruction at the Pumulani substation, the city said on Saturday.

“Construction work is progressing gradually well at the Pumulani substation which was gutted by fire late on Wednesday afternoon,” spokesman Selby Bokaba said.

He said the power supply in Pretoria North and Wonderboom areas were also disrupted on Friday night due to rainfall.

“The team managed to successfully switch on customers in Gasrfontein, Pretoria east, at 7pm last night, despite the rain disrupting the team's efforts.”

Power would be restored later on Saturday in Pretoria North.

“The City wishes to reiterate its apology for the inconvenience caused by the power failure to all its customers,” said Bokaba.
