Johannesburg - Insurer Santam’s share price closed 3 percent lower after it released a trading update yesterday that said it expected its headline earnings per share (HEPS) and earnings per share (EPS) for the six months to June to be between 26 to 31 percent below those reported for the comparative period last year.
HEPS were expected to be between R6.12 and R6.56 a share from R8.87 a share.
EPS was expected to be between R6 and R6.44 a share from R8.70 a share.
Shares fell 3.24 percent yesterday to R223.99.
