Deep-sea hake fishing giant Sea Harvest has named Felix Ratheb, its sales and marketing director, as the new chief executive.
Ratheb will succeed George Bezuidenhout on January 1 but will take over the daily running of operations this month.
Bezuidenhout has taken early retirement after being with the company for 20 years.
Ratheb, a qualified electrical engineer, has been with Sea Harvest for more than 10 years, where he started as a commercial manager.
Sea Harvest, which markets more than 40 000 tons of Cape hake locally and internationally, is majority-owned by JSE-listed Brimstone Investment and unlisted Kagiso Tiso Holdings.
Brimstone shares closed at R13 yesterday, 0.15 percent lower than on Wednesday. – Londiwe Buthelezi
