Investment firm Sekunjalo has added a digital marketing agency to its technology solutions portfolio. Yesterday, World Wide Creative, the agency that creates online communities for a number of blue chip companies, announced that it has become part of Sekunjalo through the group’s subsidiary, Saratoga Software. Saratoga, which is part of Sekunjalo Technology Solutions Group, acquired a majority stake for an undisclosed amount. World Wide Creative co-founder Fred Roed said details on the size of the stake and the price of the deal would be made public once Sekunjalo shareholders had been informed. Saratoga said the deal was done to converge technology and marketing. World Wide Creative serves clients such as Hyundai, Old Mutual, the DA and Virgin Mobile. Roed said Sekunjalo brought to them a higher degree of mentorship and the efficiencies that the technology solutions arm had was invaluable to World Wide Creative. Sekunjalo stock remained unchanged at 50c yesterday. – Londiwe Buthelezi
